The Brain Injury Association of South Carolina (BIASC) is a lifeline for brain injury survivors, families, and professionals across the state. Through bold advocacy efforts, BIASC pushes for critical legislation to expand access to care and support. Our programs tackle resource gaps by offering veteran-focused outreach, therapeutic yoga and art classes, and expert-led trainings that empower survivors and caregivers. In FY24, BIASC provided 47 trainings to over 3,500 participants, 10 peer support groups, and hosted a statewide conference with 204 attendees. We expanded awareness through safety initiatives, public education, and direct assistance, distributing nearly 600 resource kits and responding to over 290 help line calls.
BIASC serves as the "voice" of brain injury in South Carolina, representing the community on state committees and task forces, including the SC Brain Injury Leadership Council, which helps shape policy under state and federal mandates. With every initiative, BIASC strengthens the brain injury community, ensuring no one faces this journey alone.
