Paulette Criscione is a two-time breast and lung cancer survivor. She was a caregiver to her father and two brothers, who died from cancer. Knowing firsthand of the financial burden cancer treatments can place on individuals and their families, Paulette founded Cancer of Many Colors (CMC) a 501 (c) 3 foundation based in Lexington, SC.
The name Cancer of Many Colors is derived from the variety of colored ribbons that designate the many types of cancer that Paulette's family died from, breast (pink), leukemia (orange), throat (burgundy/Ivory), bile duct (kelly green) and lung (white).
CMC raises funds to help cancer patients locally and in other communities in SC, with their basic living expenses while going through treatment regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic group, or type of cancer. Through CMC's Small Gift Program, cancer patients can qualify for assistance up to $500 for rent, mortgage, utilities, food, clothing, and other common needs.
