New Morning, a non-profit headquartered in Columbia, works to provide all South Carolinians access to information about family planning and equitable access to high-quality contraceptive services. New Morning's goal is to increase intended pregnancies while reducing unintended pregnancies. The program removes barriers to quality contraceptive care by: sustaining a partner network of 120+ clinics to provide counseling and access to all FDA-approved contraceptive methods, implementing a training program to support providers in developing/maintaining competency to provide contraceptive services and providing access to medically accurate family planning information via the NoDrama.org public education website. The statewide program supports women in need of subsidized care (low-income, uninsured, and underinsured), allowing them to pursue an education, a career, and plan a family on their terms, giving them the freedom to shape their own futures. Since the program launched in 2017, there have been significant improvements for women in South Carolina. From 2017-2022, there has been a 58% decrease in births from unwanted pregnancies and a 28% increase in births from intended pregnancies.
