Community United Foundation

About this Organization

Community United Foundation, in partnership with Rainbow Restoration, hosts the Rainbow Restoration Charity Golf Classic benefiting Midlands area mothers who are battling stage IV cancer. Back in 2012, Reed Mattingly, owner of Rainbow Restoration, learned the wife of a business colleague was battling stage iv cancer. He decided to turn his customer appreciation tournament into a fundraising event for the Hayes family. Due to its overwhelming success, the charity golf tournament turned into a yearly event. Since 2012, a little over $662,000 has been gifted to 35 families from the Midlands area. Community United Foundation began as The Sparkle Caps Project in 2011 after its founder, Susan Heimbigner, successfully battled breast cancer. Susan's mission was to uplift and support women in treatment for cancer through her sparkle caps gift bags. The Sparkle Caps Project was a long-time partner and beneficiary of the Rainbow Restoration Charity Golf Classic. In 2021, Susan retired and gifted her charity to Reed and Heather Mattingly, so they could continue their work with the charity golf tournament. The Sparkle Caps project was renamed to Community United Foundation.
