Sumter Museum isn't one building. We are a campus of facilities including the Williams Brice House, Heritage Education Center, Carolina Backcountry Homestead, and Temple Sinai Jewish History Center. We are also in the process of finalizing plans to expand with a new Military and Local History Galleries facility. At our current facilities, we strive to rotate exhibits frequently, both creating in-house exhibits directly related to Sumter County history as well as hosting renowned traveling exhibits to offer our residents unique opportunities. We also present a variety of programming from free living history days in our Backcountry with costumed interpreters to book signings with New York Times Bestselling authors. We work to provide exhibits and programming to reach all ages.
