The funds raised will impact our community by improving the living conditions of the less fortunate. With these funds, GOoD Works provides structural repairs such as floors and roofs, or making access to the home easier by providing a ramp or steps and railing. GOoD Works also strives to improve living conditions by repairing bathrooms and kitchens, painting, and installing floor covering. In addition, providing or repairing water wells and/or septic systems to provide safe and sanitary conditions for the home's residents. GOoD Works completes approximately 80 projects annually, ranging from wheelchair ramps to extensive home renovations. Nearly all of our projects are completed by volunteers from our community. Our clients have very little to no income, subsisting well below the poverty level. They are usually life-long residents of the area, with family going back generations, living on heir land in homes that are in desperate need of repair. Often, when we visit a home for the first time, we find floors that have holes where we can see the ground below, plumbing that doesn't work, and even a shower floor where someone fell through due to rot.
