We reach 20,000 visitors per year from around the world to celebrate and teach Camden's and Backcountry South Carolina's important Colonial American and Revolutionary War history. Our 104-acre park features historic and reconstructed building, including the stunning Kershaw-Cornwallis House. We are also the steward of 475+ acres of the core battlefield of the 1780 Battle of Camden.
Historic Camden Foundation at 50 years inspires in her members and friends a deeper understanding of America's history. Our mission remains to protect, educate and celebrate Camden's extra-ordinary Colonial and American Revolutionary War story. The stories told and retold of challenge, valor, courage, and steadfastness during difficult times become more important from generation to generation and the lessons learned from Camden's early days are applicable today. Historic Camden Foundation will continue to tell this history and engage our responsibility with educational opportunities!
