Oliver Gospel: We are a community-based mission that helps those experiencing homelessness transform their lives through physical, spiritual, and relational support so that they can lead full, healthy lives. Since 1888, Oliver Gospel has provided life-changing services to under-resourced individuals in Richland County. The number one reason for homelessness in South Carolina is a lack of affordable housing. This, along with a shortage of jobs with livable wages, results in higher rates of homelessness while creating a less vibrant community to live, work, and play. Our holistic and comprehensive programs address critical challenges faced by individuals struggling to manage their health, pay their rent, or maintain a well-paying job. At Oliver Gospel, we love and care for anyone who walks through our doors. Our hope is that they will be equipped for a bright future, free from homelessness and poverty, and receive the tools and encouragement they need to life fulfilled, functioning, and fruitful lives. To accomplish our mission of engaging and transforming lives, we rely on partners in the community to donate funds, resources, and time so that we can continue to sustain and expand our programming. With the community's involvement, including local and state government offices, we can serve more men, women, and children experiencing homelessness and give them hope for a bright future.
