1.) SC UpLift creates opportunities for individuals and families with a low-to-moderate household income (at 80% or below the area median income) to become homeowners. 2.) SC UpLift provides safe, quality, and affordable rental housing for those who have income levels 60% or below the area median income. 3.) SC UpLift is an approved provider under the SC State Housing Trust Fund Program. As a part of this program, SC UpLift assists homeowners and households that are 50% or below area median income with major repairs such as roof replacements and heating and air replacements and/or installation. 4.) SC UpLift works with others in the community, through a formal agreement, to serve as a sponsor or fiscal agent for a group or entity that may lack nonprofit tax-exempt status. In 2020, SC UpLift partnered with the Town of Summerton and others to develop the Summerton Hemp House Project, an innovative student-led, research-based, renewable energy, affordable, "senior-friendly" model home that uses hemp as a building material. The goal of is to replicate this housing model in other parts of the state and region. In 2020, SC UpLift also partnered with Ashford Family Farms.
