Founded in 2015, The FriendShip is a community of members and volunteers committed to helping older adults lead healthy, active lives. We offer programs and services to enhance dignity and independence and strengthen social connections. By offering both practical assistance and a sense of community, The FriendShip makes a meaningful difference every day in the lives of those we serve.
The FriendShip's participants have access to: VOLUNTEER-PROVIDED SERVICES - Trained volunteers provide personalized assistance with transportation, errands, light home maintenance/chores, technology, and more. ACTIVITIES & PROGRAMS - A variety of activities are offered to support member interests and facilitate engagement in the community, including social, educational, and wellness programs as well as outings.
The FriendShip is part of the nation-wide Village Movement that seeks to "change the paradigm of aging" by coordinating volunteers and resources to support aging-in-place, or aging-in-community. Our work helps older adults who wish to age in the homes and neighborhoods they love -- and strengthens our communities by enabling those individuals to stay engaged
